Who We Are...
Candles For Occasions was founded in 2012 by Melissa Barry. A crafter from a very young age, she was hugely influenced by her Mother's handy work throughout her early years. Her first of many craft awards was achieved in 1991.
When her children were born, Melissa took the opportunity to work from home. Over the years, she built Candles For Occasions to what it is today; an award-winning company you can depend on for quality and affordability!
Based in Rush, North County Dublin, it operates from a purpose-built facility, solely as an online store, providing personalised candles, box frames, and the most luxurious fragranced soy candles, soy wax melts & linen sprays.
Over the years, our candles have been part of thousands of weddings worldwide. In January 2020, Candles For Occasions was crowned "Wedding Accessories Provider of the Year" at the Irish Wedding Awards.

With demand for a luxury brand of soy wax products on the Irish market, Melissa took the decision during the Covid pandemic to launch a sister company. "Herbert & Byrne" (a name inspired by generations gone) is home to a wide range of soy candles, wax melts, linen sprays, reed diffusers, accessories and gifts.
Following a challenging 2 years, Candles For Occasions was nominated & shortlisted as a finalist in the 2022 Let's Talk Weddings Ireland Awards as "Wedding Accessories provider of the year", and crowned winner by an independent panel of 7 judges.
